Darkroom Rental in Dubai

Lab Al Awal offers access to a fully equipped black & white and color photographic darkroom in Dubai for photographers who want to make traditional analogue prints from their negatives.

Black & White Darkroom

Our B&W darkroom is equipped for traditional silver gelatin printing and includes enlargers, easels, developing trays, timers and standard darkroom equipment.

You can work independently with your own negatives and photographic paper, or book an assisted printing session if you would like technical support.

Color Darkroom & RA-4 Printing

The darkroom is also equipped for traditional color printing from color negatives using the RA-4 process.

Photographers can make analogue color enlargements using a color enlarger and our RA-4 processing equipment.

Who Can Rent the Darkroom?

Independent darkroom rental is intended for photographers who already have darkroom printing experience or have completed a Darkroom Introduction session with Lab Al Awal.

If you have never printed in a darkroom before, please book our Darkroom Introduction & Masterclass before your first independent rental.

Rental Options

Minimum session: 3 hours

Available options:

• Single 3-hour session
• 10 Hours Prepaid Package
• 50 Hours Prepaid Package
• 100 Hours Prepaid Package

Longer prepaid packages offer a lower hourly rate and are suitable for photographers working on ongoing projects, portfolios or exhibitions.

Materials

Standard darkroom equipment is included with the rental.

Photographic paper, chemistry and other consumable materials are charged separately unless otherwise agreed.
